Flanders

Flanders is about the same age as Poppy, even though we aren’t quite sure what that number is. Flanders poppies are a classic flower used by the American Legion to memorialize the soldiers who died in World War I. If I’m being completely honest, a small part of me also named him after the friendly neighbor of The Simpsons. Flanders has a big blocky head compared to Poppy and he doesn’t carry nearly as much weight. Watching him dig is amazing! There seems to be a process, but without an endpoint. If we left them out in a pasture they would just dig random holes all over the place. Flanders is pretty chill if you can catch him, but doesn’t like to be caught and he’s anxious all the time. He is best left on the ground for petting time, except for experienced handlers.
